"Now, the first preachers of the Christ Evangel preached Christ."

"They did not, in the first place, preach salvation or sanctification or forgiveness, or judgement or heaven. That does not mean that they did not preach those things; they did, but not in the first place. They preached Christ, and all those things were included in the preaching of Christ."   - T. A. Sparks

A Word From The Pastor:

Greetings in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ!
I would like to take a moment to share with you some of the principles, dynamics, and  heart burdens for the Church here at Christ Evangel. Our chief mission is to know Christ, to preach Christ, and to make Him known throughout the nations . We recognize that our lives have been bought with the high price of the blood of Christ and we are not our own. We aim to orient our lives after the great pursuit of God, as the saints throughout time have done, knowing that we love Him only because He first loved us, according to scriptures. We labor with joy and thankfulness through the finished work of Christ that we might be found doers of the word, and not hearers only! He has given us an example that we might walk in it, and The Spirit of Grace to enable us and to guide us into all truth. We believe that scripture gives us clear evidences of the new nature of a man born-again after the miraculous power of The Spirit of God. Affections change, desires change, lives change. Part of the high calling of the church is to live, promote, and cultivate an uncompromising faith in Christ,  a kind of Gospel centered culture where Christ reigns as Lord, where the scriptures regulate activity, where The Spirit of God invigorates, where prayer, communion, and intercessions are vitally interwoven, and the saints grow in maturity and continue in God-ward pursuits. When Christ is glorified, when no flesh is glorying in His presence, when men are lightly esteemed and God is everything, when the saints love, God obediently, love
one another genuinely, and love His appearing in hopeful expectation, there is a little piece of heaven in our midst, and power in our ministry.

There are so many churches, ministries of churches, and para-church organizations out there today. Some are looking to honestly stand before God, glorify their Maker, and be found obedient to His Word. Many, most even, are not. Many are seeking self, pleasure, money, status, a big name and a big crowd. This is not surprising. The scriptures speak expressly that many in the latter times would depart from the faith and seduce their hearers in these ways. If we are bluntly honest, we can say that the scriptures are true of this generation, and that many wolves have entered into the fold, not sparing the flock. Many have set themselves up as idols to be admired by others. Many have sheered the sheep for profit, have fed them with cunning fables, have scattered the little lambs, and have not visited them. We desire to proclaim the fame of the Exalted Christ and to be a blessing to His precious Saints during an age when many in the corporate religious industry have made merchandise of the sheep; have forgotten their first love, and become distastefully lukewarm.

Our Lord indicts the religious students and masters standing before Him by saying:

"Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

Before God, may we ever be growing in the knowledge of the truth, ever hungering and thirsting after righteousness, ever pressing on into maturity and conformity, ever resting in the finished work of Christ's atoning sacrifice at Calvary, and never growing cold nor forgetting our First Love.
