The Triumphant Christ

The Epistle to the Colossians

Christ’s Complete
and Public Victory

The confidence of the Christian rests in the finished triumph of Jesus Christ—not in human strength, present circumstances, or the apparent success of earthly powers.

In Colossians 2:13–15, Paul directs the Church to the completeness of Christ’s saving work. Our guilt has been forgiven, the record standing against us has been removed, and the rulers and authorities have been openly defeated through the cross.

A Continuing Labor
Among the Churches

Nigeria has become the principal field of ChristEvangel’s international missionary service and a continuing place of fellowship, Gospel proclamation, and labor for the strengthening of Christ’s Church.

The work includes biblical preaching, university evangelism, pastoral training, church conferences, theological instruction, literature distribution, live radio ministry, and sustained partnership with faithful churches and Christian workers.

Rather than centering upon a single event or journey, the ministry reflects years of relationships and repeated service in churches, conferences, seminaries, universities, and communities throughout Nigeria.

“So the churches were being strengthened in the faith, and were increasing in number daily.” Acts 16:5

The Triumphant Christ

The Epistle to the Colossians

The Triumphant
Christ

Austin Huggins
◇

Christ has conquered sin, death, and every power set against His kingdom. His victory is complete, public, and everlasting.

Christ Exalted

Beholding the Victory
of the Son of God

The Christian’s confidence does not rest in present circumstances, human strength, or the apparent success of earthly powers. It rests in the finished victory of Jesus Christ.

This message from the Colossians series directs the hearer to the supremacy of Christ, the completeness of His saving work, and the certainty of His triumph over every opposing authority.

The exalted Christ is not struggling toward victory. He has overcome. His people therefore live, labor, suffer, and worship beneath the reign of a victorious Lord.

“When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.” Colossians 2:15

Biblical preaching is central to ChristEvangel’s work because God has appointed the proclamation of His Word to make Christ known, call sinners to faith, and strengthen His Church.

From the Field

Missionary labor is remembered not only through conferences and itineraries, but through conversations, friendships, prayers, open Bibles, and the quiet faithfulness of Christ’s people.

The Joy of Opening the Scriptures

Whether gathered in a local church, university setting, pastoral conference, or private conversation, the enduring privilege is the same: opening the Word of God and directing hearers to Jesus Christ.

The most encouraging moments are often those that continue after the formal meeting has ended, when Bibles remain open and questions turn into fellowship around the truth.

Strengthened by Those We Came to Encourage

Missionary service is never one-directional. The faith, hospitality, endurance, and love of Nigerian believers have often strengthened those who traveled to serve them.

The Triumphant Christ
Having forgiven us all trespasses, God has blotted out the legal indictment of our debt that once barred our way to His holy presence like the cherubim at Eden's gate. In a glorious act of divine justice and mercy, Christ took that certificate of debt and nailed it to His cross, paying it in full with His own precious blood. Upon that cross He declared, "It is finished!" Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Christ disarmed Satan the accuser and led those dark forces in a victor's parade, stripping them of any legal ground against His blood-bought saints. Therefore, let no man spoil you through worthless philosophies or sly mysticisms, for in Christ alone we are complete, forgiven, alive, and victorious—therefore, walk in Him!
