ChristEvangel in Nigeria

Proclaiming Christ.
Serving His Church.

Since 2017, ChristEvangel has undertaken numerous missionary journeys to Nigeria, serving alongside faithful churches and pastors through a broad and continuing ministry of Gospel proclamation, biblical instruction, evangelism, and Christian fellowship.

The work has taken many forms: preaching in local churches, addressing conferences large and small, training pastors and church leaders, teaching in classrooms, conducting evangelistic outreaches on university campuses, participating in live radio broadcasts, distributing sound Christian literature, and assisting churches in their development and ministry.

Some gatherings have been intimate meetings with a handful of pastors or believers; others have brought together hundreds of people from across a city or region. Whether the setting is a classroom, congregation, conference hall, radio studio, university, or private gathering, the purpose remains the same: to proclaim Jesus Christ and strengthen His Church through the faithful ministry of His Word.

Many Settings

From small pastoral gatherings to major conferences, churches, universities, classrooms, literature tables, and radio.

The Work

A Multifaceted Ministry

No two mission journeys are exactly alike. The work develops according to the needs of the churches, pastors, students, and communities being served. Preaching, evangelism, pastoral training, theological education, literature, radio, conferences, and personal fellowship often overlap within one continuing labor: proclaiming Christ and strengthening His Church.

Evangelistic outreach and biblical ministry among university students in Nigeria
01 Evangelism

University Outreach

Bringing the claims of Christ before students during one of the most formative seasons of life.

ChristEvangel has been privileged to participate in evangelistic ministry on Nigerian university campuses through public preaching, biblical teaching, open dialogue, personal conversation, and direct appeals to students concerning repentance, faith, and the person and work of Jesus Christ.

02 Biblical Instruction

Bible Conferences

From intimate gatherings to large regional assemblies, the emphasis remains the careful exposition of Scripture.

Conference ministry has included pastors, church members, students, missionaries, families, and believers drawn from across cities and surrounding regions. The size and setting may vary considerably, but the purpose remains unchanged: to preach Christ faithfully and to call hearers to a deeper knowledge of God through His Word.

Pastoral training and theological instruction in Nigeria
03 Church Leadership

Pastoral Training

Encouraging those who bear the daily responsibility of shepherding Christ’s people.

Pastors, missionaries, church planters, and ministry leaders are served through conferences, seminary classrooms, pastoral intensives, private meetings, theological discussion, and seasons of personal fellowship. The aim is not merely to transfer information, but to strengthen men in biblical conviction, spiritual character, and the practical work of caring for souls.

04 Printed Truth

Literature Ministry

Sound Christian literature continues teaching long after a conference has ended or a missionary has returned home.

Through Chapel Library and other trusted resources, pastors, students, families, and church members receive biblical material intended to encourage personal devotion, theological understanding, Gospel ministry, family worship, and the spiritual health of local churches.

Live Christian radio ministry in Nigeria
05 Broadcast Ministry

Radio Ministry

Biblical truth carried beyond the walls of a church, classroom, or conference hall.

Live radio interviews, teaching programs, and Gospel discussions provide opportunities to address spiritual questions publicly and to reach listeners across cities and surrounding regions. These broadcasts seek to direct hearers away from religious confusion and toward Jesus Christ and the authority of Scripture.

Ministry alongside faithful local churches and believers in Nigeria
06 The Local Church

Serving Churches

The local church is not one branch of the work. It is the center toward which the work continually returns.

ChristEvangel’s ministry in Nigeria is carried out in fellowship with Nigerian pastors, congregations, missionaries, church planters, and leaders already laboring faithfully in their own communities. The aim is not to establish a separate ministry identity, but to serve Christ’s existing churches through preaching, encouragement, counsel, resources, fellowship, and practical support.

One Continuing Labor

Different Settings.
One Gospel.

Whether before ten people or more than a thousand, whether in a church, university, classroom, conference hall, radio studio, or private home, the calling remains the same: to make Christ known and to strengthen His people through the faithful ministry of His Word.

WHY WE RETURN

Our Burden for Nigeria

For nearly a decade, ChristEvangel has returned to Nigeria because our confidence rests in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every journey has been motivated by the conviction that God's ordinary means of grace—the faithful preaching of His Word, healthy local churches, and the discipleship of believers—remain His appointed means of building His kingdom.

Nigeria is a nation of extraordinary opportunity. Throughout the country, faithful pastors labor, churches gather for worship, students seek answers, and believers long to grow in the knowledge of Christ. It has been our privilege to come alongside these brothers and sisters through biblical preaching, conferences, pastoral encouragement, theological instruction, literature ministry, radio broadcasts, and personal fellowship.

At the same time, the challenges are significant. False teaching continues to spread. Many pastors have limited access to sound theological resources. Entire communities remain largely unreached. In many regions, Christians worship under the constant reality of intimidation, displacement, or violence because they belong to Jesus Christ.

Our burden, however, is not ultimately political, cultural, or humanitarian. Those concerns are real, but they are not primary. The deepest need of every nation—including Nigeria—is reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ and the faithful proclamation of His Word.

That conviction continues to shape every conference, every university outreach, every pastoral gathering, every radio interview, every literature table, and every conversation. We return because Christ is worthy to be proclaimed, His Church is worthy to be strengthened, and the Gospel remains the power of God unto salvation.

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."

Walking Together in the Gospel

“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.” Colossians 1:28

Every journey to Nigeria leaves us with fresh reminders of the faithfulness of God. Conferences, university outreach, and pastoral training are significant privileges, but many of the moments that remain with us are quieter still—a conversation after a sermon, prayer with weary pastors, fellowship around a table, or hearing how the Lord continues to sustain His people through ordinary faithfulness.

These reflections are not intended to chronicle every event. Rather, they offer glimpses of God's ongoing work through His Word and among His people. As future journeys unfold, additional journal entries will be added here as testimonies to His continuing faithfulness.

Reflection

The Joy of Opening the Scriptures

There is a unique privilege in watching believers eagerly search the Scriptures together. Whether gathered in churches, conferences, or classrooms, the greatest encouragement is never found in large crowds but in seeing men and women delight in the Word of God.

Those moments remind us that Christ continues to build His Church exactly as He has promised.

Isaiah 55:11
Reflection

Strengthened by Those We Came to Encourage

One of the unexpected blessings of missionary work is discovering how often those we travel to encourage become the very ones who encourage us.

The steadfast faith, hospitality, generosity, and joyful perseverance of Nigerian believers continually remind us that the body of Christ is one family united by the Gospel.

Romans 1:12
Reflection

Ordinary Means, Extraordinary Grace

Much of the Lord's work is wonderfully ordinary. Faithful preaching. Earnest prayer. Churches gathering each Lord's Day. Pastors patiently shepherding God's people.

These ordinary means remain Christ's appointed means for accomplishing extraordinary things.

Acts 2:42

Looking Ahead

By God's grace we hope to continue returning as opportunities arise, strengthening existing relationships, encouraging pastors and churches, and proclaiming the unsearchable riches of Christ wherever He opens a door.

The story is not ultimately ours.

It is the continuing story of Christ building His Church.

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb...”
Revelation 7:9
